REBECCA FURUNÄS

SWEDISH WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER

Deeply passionate about the untamed beauty of nature, my journey in wildlife photography began the moment I first locked eyes with a great gray owl. In its yellow gaze it felt as though the whole forest was looking back. I could sense the very heartbeat of life itself, an ancient rhythm echoing through every leaf, every stone, every shadow of the woods.

Born and raised in Sweden, I grew up close to nature. My fascination with the natural world has been a constant throughout my life, deepening over the years as I’ve spent countless hours in the field, quietly observing and learning. I’m drawn to the mystery of nocturnal creatures and the stillness that settles as the light softens and the world quietly transitions from day to night. I create from sensation, drawing inspiration from everything that stirs something deep within me, whether it’s a piece of music, visions or stories nature whispers. When photographing, the world around me blurs and I become fully present in the moment. Each image reflects my belief in the importance of wildlife, not only for their beauty but also for the vital role they play in our ecosystem. It’s a celebration of life in all its forms and a call to connect, protect and preserve.

My work has been featured by Canon, The Swedish Museum of Natural History amongst others. It has been featured in magazines, lectures, depicted by artists, made as wall calendars and fine art prints.

All animals are photographed in the wild.
